A Note on Data Protection

We believe data protection should be straightforward to understand, not buried in legal language. This note explains, in plain English, what personal data we hold about you, why we hold it, and what you can do about it.

Last updated: June 2026
Who we are

ConstructionCRM is a specialist CRM platform built exclusively for the UK construction industry. We are the data controller for any personal data you provide to us directly — for example, when you request a demo, contact our team or use our website.

If you use our platform to manage your own contacts and relationships, we act as a data processor — we handle that data purely on your instructions, and you remain the controller of it.

What personal data we hold about you

If you have been in contact with us — or if one of our customers has your details in their system — the data we or they hold is likely to be straightforward business contact information:

  • Your name and job title
  • Your work email address and telephone number
  • Your company name and address
  • Notes from conversations or meetings

We do not hold sensitive personal data (such as financial details, health information or anything of a private nature) unless you have specifically provided it in a support or billing context.

Why we hold it and what we do with it

We hold your data for one or more of the following reasons:

  • To respond to your enquiry or provide our Services — if you have asked us about ConstructionCRM, requested a demo or become a customer, we need your details to fulfil that
  • Legitimate business interest — if you work in the UK construction industry, we may hold your contact details because there is a reasonable, relevant commercial reason to do so, and because contacting you does not override your rights
  • With your consent — for marketing emails and similar communications, where you have opted in
  • Legal obligation — where the law requires us to retain certain records

We do not sell your personal data to anyone. We do not share it with third parties except where necessary to operate our Services (for example, our hosting provider) or where required by law.

How long we keep it

We don't keep your data for longer than we need to. In practice, that means:

  • If you're a customer, we keep your account data for the duration of your contract and a reasonable period afterwards
  • If you've enquired or been in contact with us, we keep your details for up to two years from our last meaningful interaction — unless you ask us to remove them sooner
  • If you've unsubscribed from marketing communications, we act on that immediately and retain only a suppression record to ensure we don't accidentally contact you again
Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have clear rights over your personal data. You can exercise any of these at any time simply by contacting us:

See what we hold
Correct it
Have it deleted
Object to its use
Take it elsewhere
Withdraw consent

We will always respond within one calendar month. There is no charge for making a request. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
